AIDS Marathon participants in Chicago will be training for the following events:

Chicago Marathon (Training begins May 3, 2008)
Our local marathon…this is the race that everyone wants to run.  The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is one of the largest in the world.  More than 40,000 people are expected to register and the whole city turns out to cheer.  The flat course has long been recognized as one of the best for first-time marathoners as well as runners looking to improve their previous performance.  Maybe that’s why so many world records have been set here.  The course passes through fifteen different neighborhoods, each contributing its own unique flavor.  It’s a giant street festival from start to finish.  AIDS Marathoners who meet the fundraising requirement will receive free guaranteed race entry.  Participants are asked to raise $1,500 by July 15, 2008.

Chicago Half Marathon (Training begins May 3, 2008)
The Banco Popular Chicago Half Marathon is a great alternative for runners who prefer the half marathon distance.  Or, if you’re new to running, it’s a perfect way to get your feet wet.  This event continues to grow in popularity year after year.  The race includes a flat lakefront course that truly shows off the beauty of our city.  If you’re up for a challenge, want to wow your friends, and make a huge difference in the fight against AIDS, this event is for you.  AIDS Marathoners who meet the fundraising requirement will receive free guaranteed race entry.  Participants are asked to raise $1,500 by July 15, 2008.

Amsterdam Marathon and Half Marathon (Training begins May 3, 2008)
With its scenic canals, windmills, and world-famous museums and historical sites, Amsterdam is truly one of the most romantic, beautiful and open-minded cities in Europe. The 33rd annual Amsterdam Marathon and Half Marathon will bring together more than 20,000 people from throughout Europe and the world.  The course will take you on a tour of this majestic city, past windmills, along the Amstel River, and then ultimately to the finish line inside the historic Olympic Stadium.  You’ll be in awe every step of the way.  AIDS Marathoners who meet the fundraising requirement will receive roundtrip airfare and three nights hotel accommodations in Amsterdam as well as free guaranteed race entry.  Participants are asked to raise $4,200 by July 25, 2008.

Honolulu Marathon (Training begins June 14, 2008)
Grass skirts, flower leis, warm ocean breezes.  Where else would you want to be in December?  More than 25,000 runners will take part in the 36th annual Honolulu Marathon.  You’ll run past tropical landscapes and beautiful beaches while thousands of supporters cheer you on.  AIDS Marathoners who meet the fundraising requirement will receive roundtrip airfare and three nights hotel accommodations in Waikiki as well as free guaranteed race entry.  Participants are asked to raise $3,700 by September 19, 2008.

Fundraising Requirement
Each participant will be asked to raise between $1,500 and $4,200 depending upon the event they choose to run.  We know this sounds like a lot of money, but we’ll show you how to do it.  Our experienced staff has already helped 20,000 people raise $80 million.  We’ll be there every step of the way to help you successfully reach the goal.  Fundraising Tools
