JOB TITLE: Program Representative
SUPERVISOR: Program Director
Program Representatives provide encouragement, training and fundraising support to the participants of the National AIDS Marathon® Training Program. This program prepares individuals to complete a marathon or half marathon while raising millions of dollars on behalf of AIDS Foundation of Chicago, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (in South Florida), AIDS Project Los Angeles or the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Motivate and assist participants with their training and fundraising
-Actively market program through phone campaigns, info sessions, and other public speaking opportunities.
-Schedule and supervise volunteers to assist with weekend runs and other activities.
-Fundraising presentations at house parties and community events.
-Preparation and logistical planning for the weekend runs, marathon day, and other events.
-Prepare correspondence to participants and others interested in the program.
-Update database.
-Regularly exercise discretion in furthering support for the training program.
-Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Reps will manage various projects that may include volunteer coordination, telemarketing efforts, team recruitment, development of marketing materials, event logistics, and supervision of coaches.
HOURS: 40+ often including evenings and weekends. All employees are encouraged to participate in the training program.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Superior organizational abilities, ability to motivate volunteers, personable telephone manner, familiarity with database and word processing programs, ability to cooperate and work with a team, ability to manage multiple projects with demanding deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A professional with background in fundraising, customer service, running and fitness, marketing, volunteer coordination, corporate communication, telemarketing, sales, and strong commitment to the fight against AIDS.
STARTING SALARY: $33-$35K + based on experience; benefits include vacation, retirement, health/dental and disability insurance.
